Our four branches are located in Riga, Cesis, Madona and Ludza, and we have a total of 14 employees and access to 200 quality assured contractors. We currently manage approximately 50 000 hectares in Latvia.
Acquisition and management of forests in Latvia
There is a great deal of interest in purchasing land in Latvia. The average property size is approximately 20 hectares. Bigger estates or holdings of 200 hectares and more are also available. We make packages of land deals in the target area chosen by the client. Prices have decreased by 30 - 50% in comparison with prices in 2008, and price range is now from 500 EUR/hectare up to 1500 EUR/hectare for good forest property with certain volume available for cutting. Price also depends on the size of the property.Skogssallskapet SIA has both tabular and spatial data available for land deal offers and provides all the services related to investment and property management, including company establishment, brokerage, management of the properties and economic services. We also ensure that our customers receive EU subsidies for forestry and agriculture.
Our forest managers and production managers carry out all types of forest services. If you wish, we will help you to formulate goals for your forest ownership in the form of long-term plans and budgets. Moreover, we are experts in forestry finance including tax advice, tax returns, financial statements and capital analyses. Our experienced consultants handle legal and property matters such as intrusion, leases, valuation, purchase and sale of real estate. And we do not have our own industry - we chase the best timber business on your behalf!

Skogssällskapet Latvia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Swedish Skogssällskapet, which manages 500 000 hectares in collaboration with large and small forest owners in Sweden, Norway and Latvia. Our 40 offices are carefully located within our area of operations. We have great insight into the timber and real estate markets.Our timber trade is extensive. We are an efficient and reliable supplier of raw materials of timber, specialty assortments, pulpwood and biofuels to over 200 industrial customers in the Nordic countries, Europe and Asia. We handle about 2 million m3 of timber per year and we have a turnover of 150 million EUR.
Forest management since 1912
The Swedish Forest Society Foundation, Skogssällskapet, was founded in 1912. The commercial Group is owned by the Foundation, which aims to promote forest management and conservation.
